Set in peaceful countryside, Keld House Farm is only a mile from the centre of Appleby. It is only a short car journey to the historic market towns of Penrith and Kirkby Stephen. The Eden Valley has many tourist attractions, but is itself ideally situated, with the Lake District fells in the west, North Pennines in the east, Hadrian's Wall to the north and the Yorkshire Dales to the south. 
Keld House Farm bed and breakfast or self-catering accommodation has been sympathetically restored using sandstone, oak, tiles and green slate. Appleby is easily accessible by road or rail. Indeed the Settle to Carlisle Railway runs through our fields, and we have unparalleled views of the line from the back-garden.  Train enthusiasts, from as far as Manchester, regularly gather on the bridge for a first glimpse of a steam engine thundering down the Eden Valley! This part of the world offers excellent walking - we are also a stop-off point on Lady Anne's Way.

We aim to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Our special touches include;

  • Linen and towels are provided for self-catering guests. There is a complimentary 'welcome-pack' which includes;  milk, bread, home-made cake, fresh free-range eggs, tea/coffee, toiletries bottle of wine and washing up liquid. 

  • Bed and breakfast guests have full use of the kitchen and lounge area and will receive a complimentary home-made cake.
  • A starter-pack of fuel, kindling and fire-lighters for the log-burning stove.
  • Complimentary collection and return from Appleby or Penrith stations by prior arrangement.
